Plywood thicknesses are available in:

  • - 4 mm (Typically used for partitions and panelling)
  • - 6 mm (Suitable for furniture and cabinetry)
  • - 8 mm (Used for door shutters and shelving)
  • - 10 mm (Used for furniture frames and flooring)
  • - 12 mm (Used for heavy-duty furniture and construction)
  • - 15 mm (Used for heavy construction and industrial applications)
  • - 18 mm (Used for heavy construction and specialized applications)

MR

Moisture Resistant plywood, also known as commercial plywood, with the IS 303 specification number. It's recommended for surfaces that don't get wet, like lofts and wardrobes.

BWR

Boiling Water Resistant plywood, with the IS 303 specification number. It's superior to MR plywood but inferior to BWP plywood.

BWP

Boiling Water Proof plywood, also known as marine plywood, with the IS 710 specification number. It's the strongest plywood and is recommended for surfaces that can get wet, like bathroom units and kitchen units.
